CONSUMER LAW GROUP is investigating a potential Canadian class action lawsuit against Mercedes because of the sudden drastic battery failures in the 2004-2022 model year Class S, C, A, CLA, CLS, G, GLA, GLK, GLC, ML, GLE, GL, GLS, and E vehicles.

A class action lawsuit is already underway in the United States that alleges that owners and lessees report leaving their cars for several hours without any lights or electronics on, only to return and find the Mercedes car battery completely drained. As the Mercedes-Benz battery drains can occur without warning, drivers may be unexpectedly stranded and placed in perilous situations. They also report having to repeatedly pay out-of-pocket for costly diagnostics, software updates, and battery replacements, none of which remedy the problem.

A second defect has been alleged relating to Mercedes-Benz vehicles with 48V/12V battery hybrid systems. The defect causes vehicles to shutoff, overheat, go into limp home mode, or lose acceleration at highway speeds. This defect is said to affect 2019-2021 model year Mercedes-Benz vehicles including GT-Class, GLS-Class, GLC-Class, C-Class, CLS-Class, E-Class, and GLE-class M-B hybrids.
